Motorcoaches carry approximately 860 million passengers yearly in the U.S. and Canada.

Motorcoaches travel 945 million miles per year in the U.S. (or 28 billion passenger-miles).

Blue Ridge Tours Motorcoach Safety Information 

All of our drivers meet the following standards:

• Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
• Participate in a random drug and alcohol testing program
• Attend scheduled driver safety meetings
• Pass an annual DOT physical examination
• Undergo an annual examination of their driving record

All of our motorcoaches undergo:

• Daily inspection by the driver
• Regularly scheduled maintenance at least every 5,000 miles
• Monthly safety checks
• Annual thorough state inspection
• Random safety inspections by the FMCSA and DOT
